Treasurer of Tahoeraa Huiraatira, Gaston Flosse's party. He was
appointed in 2011 Secretary General of the party. On 15 September 2014,

Te Ora Api o Porinetia obtained less than 5,000 votes (3.7%) in the
first round of the territorial elections held on 22 Avril 2018. Below
the threshold of 5%, the party could not merge with another list for the
second round and did not gave vote instructions for the second round.
Tuihani lost his seat at the Polynesian Assembly and was succeeded as
President by Édouard Fritch.
Tuihani said he was "satisfied" with the result, even if he "expected
better, like any list competing in an election". The list obtained 563
votes in Papeete, Tuihani's target for the 2020 municipal election, and
70% of the votes in Tatakoto atoll (Tuamotou), where the mayor had rallied Te Ora Api o Porinetia.
